As one of the 5 SunSmart elements (slide), it’s typically overlooked because wearing sunglasses has proven to be impractical and a bit of a headache for both parents and children. With our design and innovation, it is now as easy as wearing a SunSmart hat. Sunglasses are just as important as SunSmart hats in offering sun protection to kids from the harsh Southern Sun – especially when our kids are spending so much time outdoors. The SunSmart wrap-around frame of sunnies+ is made of highly flexible plastic materials that is not harmful to kids’ skin, enabling a comfortable fit on the face, or resting on the head sitting underneath the hat. The lens is made of polycarbonate which is shatter-proof.

Sunnies+ is designed to last the school year. It is specifically designed to be used at the same time when SunSmart school hats are mandatory to wear at school. The lens is made of polycarbonate which is shatter-proof, and is coated with industrial strength anti-scratch coating to ensure durability.

There has been nothing like this before to help parents and kids (we are literally one-of-a-kind) make sunglasses so easy to attach to hats, minimizing lost sunnies and enabling the ease of access and comfort for kids. Our unique design is created in Australia and has been patented and registered.

Our first design, Helios, comes in Navy Blue and Black colours with the intention of working with most school uniform policies and requirements. These unisex colours are also suitable for use outside of school.

Sunnies+ is specifically designed for primary school age kids.

Sunnies+ is designed to work with any type of SunSmart hat style. These include Bucket, Broad Brim and Legionnaire style hats.

Simply put, your Sunnies+ sunglasses attaches to your SunSmart hat. Kids will never forget to bring their protective sunglasses along when playing outdoors because the sunglasses and hat stay together.

Our eyewear is made with ultra-flexible materials and we’ve considered the design from all angles and usage situations – so this is inbuilt into the patented design of Sunnies+. Simply slide on the sunglasses and adjust the frame angle with the unique tilting mechanism to ensure a comfortable fit. Your child can keep wearing their hat without the sunglasses by putting away Sunnies+ at the back or inside the hat, using the unique sliding mechanism on the arms. To pack away, simply leave Sunnies+ inside the hat, fold it away, and you’re ready for the next adventure.

Absolutely! We’re here to remove parental headaches, not create more of them. Sunnies+ is super easy to set up and the installation should only take a few minutes. You’ll only need to do this once to attach it to your chosen hat. Of course, you can remove and re-attach them to another hat.

Sunnies+ can be removed and repositioned to another hat if you’d like to switch them up. It’s as permanent as you’d like it to be! We like to keep our Sunnies+ on uniform hats during the school year, and then take Sunnies+ with us while on vacation with a non-uniform hat. Simple un-screw and re-screw the special rivet-like attachment mechanisms on and off any type of SunSmart hats. You can take it off and put it back on as many times as you need.

We recommend regularly tightening the attachment mechanism to safely secure your Sunnies+ to your SunSmart hat. Simply check that the screws are on tight.
